DentaQuest, the second-largest dental benefits administrator in the United States, has told federal regulators that hackers spent four days inside its network in May. They compromised data on more than 15 million people, the largest health data breach reported to the US government this year. The data includes names, Social Security numbers, Medicaid and Medicare identifiers, diagnoses, treatments and billing records, and ShinyHunters has already leaked some of it online. DentaQuest administers benefits for roughly 32 million Americans, so a sector’s most sensitive records sat in one place, readable to whoever got in.
GuardWare DISCOVER maps where health and identity records sit across files, shares and email, so an organisation knows exactly what it holds.
PROTECT keeps those files encrypted, so four days inside yields records no one can read or leak.
